About Me

I was born and raised in the shadow of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Sparks, Nevada.  I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a B.S. in Education. I have taught High School and Adult Education in the Northern Nevada area from 1999-2009.  I have taught a variety of subjects in Science and Social Studies including: U.S. History, World History, Government, Economics, Psychology, Leadership,  GED, Physical Science, and Chemistry.  I also have served as Student Council Advisor and Activities Director.  Due to the down turn in the economy, my family relocated to Connecticut where I am now pursuing a master's in Educational Technology at Central Connecticut State University.  Although I miss the mountain peaks that have always surround me, I am eager to start new adventures in Connecticut.

Did you know...

One of my favorite childhood memories is the Sierra Pacific Power Company Christmas parties at John Ascuaga's Nugget where the employees' children were entertained in the Celebrity  Showroom by Bertha and Tina "The World's Most Talented Performing Elephants" after which we got to eat candy and visit with Santa.

Aspirations:

In Northern Nevada I could act as "tour guide" to all my visiting friends and family.  I could show them the historical sites, the best shows and hottest events around.  I hope to explore the sites and events in the Northeast so I can do the same.
